The GNC 8729-C is a red giant star, and is 2000 years old. It was born from the remnants of a supernova in the golden nebula region, and is nearing the end of its life. It is expected to explode into a supernova itself within the next 500 years, or maybe even collapse into a black hole if its mass becomes heavy enough before then.
